Fisheries

Requirements to Study Fisheries
To successfully gain admission to study Fisheries, you need to have 5 credits in your O/Level exam or equivalent in a maximum of 2 sittings in the following subject, English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and Economics or Geography.

Agricultural Economics

Requirements to Study Agricultural Economics
For admission into Agricultural Economics, you need to possess the following minimum qualifications:

1. Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalents with credit level passes in five (5) subjects at not more than two sittings. You must also earn an acceptable score in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

2. Candidates seeking admission by direct entry into the 200 level, must have at least five (5) O/L credits, two of which must be at Advanced Level or approved equivalents.

Animal Science

Requirements to Study Animal Science

Requirements to study Home Economics or Home Science and Management

You must possess the entry requirement of 5 “O” level credits which must include Chemistry or Biology and any two of the following: Home Management, Clothing and Textile, Food and Nutrition, Agricultural Science, Garment Making, Cosmetology, Catering craft and Economics at WASC / GCE “O” level NABTEB /NECO , obtained at not more than two sittings

There is also the option of Direct Entry (DE) which means you can be admitted into 200 level. The admission requirements are highlighted below:

  • A minimum of lower credit in ND on Diploma in Fashion and Clothing Management Education, Home Economics, Hotel and Catering, Home and Rural Economics plus a credit level pass in any two of the following: Home Management clothing and textile, food and Nutrition, Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture Science, Garment Making , Catering Cosmetology Mathematics and Economic at WASC/ SSCE “O Level /NABTEB /NECO.
  • A minimum of merit level pass in NCE Home Economics with credit in any two of the following Home Management, Clothing and Textiles, Food and Nutrition , Biology , Chemistry , Agriculture Science , Garment Making , Catering Craft, Cosmetology Mathematics and Economics at WASC/SSCE/GCE “O” Level /NABTEB /NECO.
  • Candidates with University diploma at distinction/credit/merit in the following disciplines listed below who possess the university minimum entry requirement plus a least a credit in Biology or Chemistry at WASC/SSCE/GCE “O” Level NABTEB /NECO may be considered for Direct Entry but will run a year programme
  • Diploma in Computer Education
  • Diploma in Social Work
  • Diploma in Science Lab Tech
  • Diploma in Adult Education
  • Candidate with a pass level in NCE plus any two of the following Biology or Chemistry, Agriculture Science, Economics, Mathematics, Garment Making, Catering Craft and Cosmetology at WASC/SSCE/GCE “O” Level NABTEB /NECO will run the four-year degree programme

Urban and Regional Planning

Requirements to Study Urban and Regional Planning

UTME Requirements: 5 O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any two of Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Economics and Fine Arts/Technical Drawing. And the UTME Subjects are English Language, Mathematics, Geography /Economics and any one of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Fine Arts/Technical Drawing.

Direct Entry Requirements: Very good passes in JUPEB/A Level subjects: Mathematics, Geography and any one of Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Economics.

HND/ND (Distinction) in Urban and Regional Planning into 300/200 level.

Estate Management

Same as above

In conclusion, you can choose these courses even if you had a D7/E8/F9 in Physics. But you should check with the University of your choice as there are some institutions that make a pass in Physics compulsory for some of these courses.
