Kenneth Omeruo declares war on Barcelona

Nigerian defender Kenneth Omeruo has declared war on Lionel Messi’s Barcelona ahead of their clash on Sunday at the Nou Camp.

Messi became the first man to score 400 La Liga goals as Barcelona eased to a 3-0 win at home to Eibar last Sunday which kept the Catalans five points clear ahead of Atletico Madrid at the top of the standings at the halfway point of the season.

Omeruo on a season loan from Chelsea at Leganes on his part has been instrumental to his side’s back to back wins in the Spanish La Liga.

He will be eager to help the Los Pepineros record a second win in a row against Barcelona after their midweek 1-0 win over Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey.

Leganes had defeated Real Madrid 1-0 at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque on Wednesday night but Los Blancos reached the quarter-finals as they had already won the first leg 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“And now, we go out again against Barcelona this weekend,” the 25-year-old wrote on Twitter.

Leganes are 13th on the table with 22 points from 19 games with the centre-half having played 12 La Liga matches this term of which 11 have been starts.

Omeruo has also been cautioned twice.
