According to an eyewitness (name withheld) who was in the same hall with the affected students speaks with our correspondent said;
“The incident happened during the visitation of the invigilator to the exam hall, we just spent less than 20minutes but to the surprise of we students in the venue, the invigilators took the answer sheet of those students and cross all the spaces in their answer sheet which I think it’s against the rules and regulations in student’s handbook that states that it is only the student that have right to cross any unused space in answer booklet.”
On confirmation of the incident, the Student Union president (SIWES) said the act of the invigilator was unfair, and no invigilator have the right to force any student to sign out of the exam unless the student is willing to or the exam period is over.
Also, when contacted the Dean of the student affair, Mr Adelabu in is word urged students not to take law in there hands and they should follow legal procedure as written in their handbook.
In his words, he order those affected students to write petition letter to his office and narrate how the incident happened. He assured them that he will forward the letter to the panel and justice will be done on it.
All efforts to get in contact with the invigilator was proof abortive as at time of filing this report.
