NAIJAPARY has authoritatively unearthed and confirmed the recent mephistophelean connivance of the leadership of supposed Association of Campus Journalist, ACJ, OAU with the university management where the body wrote a letter to the university management demanding for a total sum of 5million naira to organise a leadership summit for reinstatement of the university students’ Union structure.
A copy of the letter of acknowledgement for the 5million naira from the DSA made available to the Agency from our close and confidential source, revealed how the body solicited for a sum of 5million naira from the university and copied to the university Vice-Chancellor.
Reacting to the report at the early hours of Wednesday, the university Dean of Students’ Affairs, Prof. I.A Aransi admitted that the Division truly received such letter letter from the body; but they have made it known that the university would not be able to give the complete 5million naira, and that they should outsource for the remaining.
However, another of our close source from the VC’s office claimed that all is set for the money to be paid out, if not already.
While the leadership of such body of Journalists are expected to be fierce-fearless wordsmiths, with immutable pen eternally loaded with literary bullets haunting vices in the university community; the recent happenings has proved otherwise.
And at a time when the welfare condition of the university students is nothing to write about, soliciting for such amount from the university management on the premise of reinstatement of the Union structure shows the height of greediness of the body.
