2019 AFCON: Eagles Star Shehu Abdullahi Issues Injury Update (Photos)

Super Eagles defender Abdullahi Shehu has expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their support following his injury during the game against Burundi at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Shehu who won an Olympics bronze medal in football, 2016, was hurled off the pitch due to an injury in the 1-0 win on Saturday.

Although the injury looked serious, the defender, has, however, said that he will be back soon.

In a tweet on his handle on Sunday, the Bursaspor man urged Nigerians to keep supporting the team in the competition, also.

“Thanks for the love Nigerians, I appreciate your amazing messages,” he said.

“I will be back soon! The most important thing, keep supporting us, we shall make you proud at the end and conquer Africa. I Love You All.”
